YOUR REAL SELF

That alone is considered real, which never changes, while anything subject to change is considered unreal.'

By this definition the body and mind are unreal (since both are subject to change) which is self evident as follows:

If you relax whereby you have no body sensations, you still remain aware, proving that awareness exists before the body.

If you empty your mind even for one second, you still remain aware, proving awareness exists before the mind.

Awareness alone is your real Self, since that alone remains in the absence of thoughts and body sensations.

This is why its said "You may go to a physical church until you realize the real church is within your heart (as awareness)."

Many refer to awareness as a God by many names, but awareness being the Self of all has no such limited roles.

That which is born must die. That which had a beginning must have an end. But that which was unborn cannot die.

Hence awareness being self-existent (unborn), never ends. In the absence of all else: awareness alone remains.

And only due to misidentifying as a body and mind for years, one comes to believe one is actually a physical being.

However, a physical body is merely a vehicle (imagined) for experiences: and not the Self.

Awareness (the Self) is the screen within which the mind, body and world are imagined (just as in dreams at night).

And awareness can never be experienced being far too subtle to be perceived by a body’s limited senses of perception.

Just as a screen is recognized only when the movie stops, awareness is realized only when the mind is quiet, because:

Only awareness can be aware of awareness (realize its Self in the silence that remains)

Only consciousness can be conscious of consciousness (know its Self in silence)

Since awareness alone exists, there is nothing in existence that is not a part of your Self (awareness).

So from the absolute viewpoint, whatever you do to others, you really do to your Self (as awareness).

Hence those who know the truth hurt not themselves by intentionally hurting others (being aware there are no others).

A flower has sweet fragrance without any intention (for such is its nature).

And the Self-realized exude compassion and generosity of spirit (for such is their nature realizing the unity of awareness).

The absolute truth is very simple and always remains:

Before the body, you were aware (that you exist)

While in the body, you are aware (that you exist)

After the body, you will remain aware (that you exist)

A mind, body and world are only imagined for play within your Self (the awareness which alone exists). So knowing this:

Simply remain fully aware of your Self as awareness, and play freely as you wish.
